Arkansan performs with Usher during Super Bowl Halftime Show

NORTH LITTLE ROCK – It’s a dream a college student from Arkansas never thought would come true, but it did.

Edmund Bryant graduated from North Little Rock High School last year at the age of 18, and this year he found out he would be one of the band members from his college, Jackson State University during the halftime show with Usher.

“We couldn’t tell anyone at first, but I had to tell my mom because my mom is my life support,” Bryant said.

Super Bowl was the most-watched program ever in the US, averaging 123.7 million viewers

Bryant who was one of 80 band members selected; said he can be seen performing on Usher’s right side at the beginning of Usher’s halftime show holding the cymbals.

His mother Reah Gilbert said she was thrilled for him to get the opportunity.

“I was overwhelmed with joy, and I started jumping up screaming,” Gilbert said.

In the band, Bryant plays the cymbals and he said everyone spent weeks finding their rhythm to make sure they were ready for Las Vegas.
