NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Police in North Little Rock are investigating after a woman and a small child were found dead off an interstate on-ramp Tuesday morning.
Officials with the North Little Rock Police Department said officers responded to the area of the Interstate 440 on-ramp from Highway 165 just after 9:45 a.m. and found the victims in a grassy area on the side of the on-ramp.
Officers said a second child was also found at the scene and taken to a local hospital for treatment.

Detectives were called to the scene and started their investigation. At this time, investigators said the manner and cause of death for these two victims is unknown. The bodies of the victims were taken to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for autopsies and to determine a cause of death.
Authorities said investigators are working to identify the victims and notify their next of kin.
