North Little Rock police identify mother, child found dead off on-ramp, call case a homicide

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Police in North Little Rock have identified the woman and child who were found dead off the side of the Interstate 440 on-ramp from Highway 165 Tuesday morning.

Officials with the North Little Rock Police Department said victims in this case were identified as 27-year-old Teangela Tate of Jacksonville and her infant 2-month-old son Noel Mott.

A second child who police officers found at the scene, age 1.5 years old, is currently hospitalized and is listed in critical condition. Tate was also the mother of this child.

Authorities initially referred to this case as a death investigation, but detectives said the evidence they have found so far has led them to escalate this to a homicide investigation. Detectives are not releasing information on what led them to escalate the case.

Investigators said autopsies for both Tate and the infant child are pending.
