Scattered showers and storms can be expected this weekend, especially during the afternoon and evening. The main threats will be locally heavy rainfall, lightning, and gusty winds. Highs will reach the mid and upper 80s. The moisture finally moves out of the state Monday with a slight chance for showers mainly over southern Arkansas. Another quick moving area of moisture brings rain chances Wednesday and that should mainly affect southern and central Arkansas. Highs next week will be more comfortable and in the 80s while overnight lows drop into the 60s and low 70s. -Todd Yakoubian.
