Young Arkansas voters register to vote, share thoughts on 2024 election

CONWAY, Ark. – Tuesday is National Voter Registration Day, and many young people on Arkansas college campuses got out to register and gear up for the upcoming November Election.

At the University of Central Arkansas, students took the first step in making sure their voices will be heard for the presidential election by registering to vote.

“It’s how we make sure we’re heard and not lost in the mix and make sure we’re fairly represented in our democracy and see the changes over time implemented,” said college junior Abigail Wells.

Some students who registered are feeling the weight of being a young voter in this election cycle with the presidential debate shining a light on former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris.

“This one is probably the most important,” sophomore Kamryn Glover said.

Other registered students making their second presidential vote say they have their eye on the candidate of their choice.
