LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Thursday, The Arkansas Martin Luther King Jr. Commission held its nonviolence youth summit at Little Rock Southwest High School where many people came out to support and spread an important message.
DuShun Scarbrough, Executive Director, says they had legendary names like The Voice’s Mac Royals, Gospel Singer Melvin Williams and New Edition’s Johnny Gill all there for one goal.

“Today is an opportunity to really support in promote nonviolence throughout the state.” Scarbrough says. “It’s not just about witnessing and seeing celebrities, it’s about those celebrities to lend a hand. It speaks volumes for the opportunity Arkansas has and promoting education.”
Many notable names sharing their message of nonviolence and anti-bullying like FOX16’s Kevin Kelly gave speeches to the high school students.
Elementary students at Little Rock’s Martin Luther King Leadership and Language Academy sang at the event which earned a round of applause.
