Three Vilonia high school seniors become first-ever unified FFA team at Faulkner County Fair

CONWAY, Ark.- Vilonia High School Future Farmers of America created its first Unified team at the start of the school year, paving the way for students with disabilities to join.

Among those students who joined was high school senior Emily Prosser, who was diagnosed with a rare genetic condition known as William’s Syndrome.

“One in 10,000 people are diagnosed with William’s Syndrome,” Emily’s mother, Karri Prosser, said.

However, Emily has never let her syndrome define her or keep her from pursuing her passions.

“It was hard, but I did it,” Emily Prosser said.

She did it with help from two other FFA seniors, Anslee Garner and Rachael Barker, who acted as Emily’s unified guides.

Garner and Barker spent time preparing Emily and her goats, chickens, and rabbits to compete in their first competition, breaking the record as the first unified competitor at the Faulkner County Fair for the goat show ring.
