LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Former Arkansas lawmaker Joyce Elliott is on the path to recovery following her June stroke.
Get Loud Arkansas posted a picture on X showing Elliott and encouraging Arkansans to get out and vote as Election Day draws near.
“Get loud, go vote, and tell them that Joyce Elliott sent you,” the post read.

In late June, Elliott’s family said she had suffered a stroke while traveling in Dallas. They said she received treatment in Texas for two days before being transferred back to Little Rock.
Elliott represented parts of Little Rock in the Arkansas State House of Representatives from 2001 to 2007 and in the Arkansas State Senate from 2009 to 2023.

Since leaving the state senate in 2023, Elliott has led Get Loud Arkansas , working on voter registration efforts and championing a number of progressive causes and ballot initiatives.
