Arkansas State Police special agents make arrest in Georgia tied to Interstate 630 shooting

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Arkansas State Police said they have made an arrest tied to a shooting that happened on Interstate 630 earlier in the month.

According to authorities, special agents with ASP’s Criminal Investigation Division traveled to Dublin, Georgia, on Monday and worked with Georgia authorities to arrest 52-year-old Alvertis Murry of North Little Rock in connection with the shooting.

Investigators said Murry was traveling on I-630 near the Woodrow Street exit on Oct. 11 at around 10:20 a.m. when he allegedly fired multiple shots into another vehicle and hit the driver in the arm. Officials said the victim was treated at a local hospital.

ASP officials said Murry was transported to the Pulaski County Detention Center and is facing a charge of first-degree battery and a charge of felony possession of a firearm by certain persons. Police said he is being held on a $200,000 bond.
