WARD, Ark. – Though the Natural State is currently leading the nation in food insecurity, a local church has been fighting back by serving weekly meals with their food ministry.
According to a post on Facebook , the food ministry at Grace Community Church served a total of 29,058 free meals in 2024, nearly the population of cities like Cabot and Jacksonville.

Each Tuesday, the food ministry works with Fishnet Missions of Jacksonville to take rescued food that they receive and convert it into meals centered around items like pork chops, enchilada casserole and biscuits and gravy.
“Whether it’s serving hot meals, passing out donated groceries, or sending our youth group kids home with snack bags, we’re working hard to combat food insecurity in our community,” the post said.
