Sanders said that the Arkansas Department of Corrections collected the most food out of all the agencies in the state with 6,975 pounds donated. The Arkansas Department of Inspector General collected 13.6 pounds per employee, which the governor said was the most food collected per employee.

“I’m a mom, so I know that Christmas can get chaotic. But in between all the gift-wrapping and cookie-baking, it’s important to remember the reason for the season and give back,” Sanders said. “I’m so proud of the state employees who came together to donate an incredible 21,500 pounds of food to Arkansans in need, helping every family enjoy this Christmas season.”
