Four killed and several injured in Fordyce mass shooting
On June 21, Travis Eugene Posey began shooting at people in the parking lot of the Mad Butcher grocery store in Fordyce. Shirley Taylor, Callie Weems, Roy Sturgis and Ellen Shrum died during the shooting and Posey pleaded not guilty in court to four counts of capital murder and ten counts of attempted murder.
Clinton National Airport head killed in early morning shootout with ATF agents
On March 19 Clinton National Airport head Bryan Malinowski was shot by ATF agents while they were serving a search warrant at his home shortly after 6 a.m. Malinowski died from his injuries on March 21 and it was later said by the ATF that he was selling guns at gun shows without a dealer’s license, though family attorneys maintain that he was selling the guns legally under a “gunshow loophole” rule allowing for private sellers.
