Woman from Sevier County wins $200,000 in Arkansas Scholarship Lottery

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – A woman from the Natural State is starting her year off grand after winning $200,000 in a game from the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery.

According to a release, Judi D. of Sevier County won $200,000 playing Multiplier Mania and claimed her prize at the ASL’s claim center on Dec. 31.

Judi said that she purchased two tickets that day at B & B Store in Lockesburg, but neither ticket had a prize. She said that she purchased a third ticket that day and scratched it off in her car, discovering the winnings.

“I need you to tell me if we see the same thing,” Judi said after sending her daughter a photo of the ticket.

Although Judi said she plays daily, the win surprised her after her previous biggest wins were $500 and $5,000.

“You always dream about it,” she told lottery officials. “You think, ‘What if this happens?’”

Since 2009, the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery has sold over $7.7 billion and returned more than $1.4 billion for scholarships to benefit Arkansas students. More than 770,000 college scholarships distributed by the Arkansas Department of Higher Education have been awarded to Arkansans.
