Christmas Eve Arkansas Traffic Stop Nets 248 Pounds of Pot

There were quite a few “routine traffic stops” on Christmas Eve around the state, but one led Arkansas State Police (ASP) to a major drug bust on Interstate 40. At approximately 6:50 PM on December 24, 2024, troopers pulled over a white 2021 Ford F150 near the 165-mile marker in Lonoke County for a simple traffic violation. During the stop, officers had cause to search the truck’s bed and uncovered 207 vacuum-sealed packages of marijuana hidden in six large suitcases. Each package weighed roughly 1.2 pounds, with the total haul amounting to 248 pounds.
