North Little Rock woman says box containing stillborn son’s belongings was stolen from her home

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Saulane Watson returned to her home in North Little Rock on Jan. 4 to find a devastating sight.

Watson called the police when she realized she had been a victim of a burglary after finding her door wide open.

According to a police report, just under $5,000 worth of possessions were stolen, but the biggest loss was a small box with no monetary value.

“That had my stillborn son’s belongings,” Watson said, “It had the outfit from when he was in the hospital. And it had his footprint. It had some of his medical records, pictures of me, him. All that was gone.”

She said the expected due date was Jan. 5, 2020, making this time of year even harder without the tangible memories to hold on to.

“That due date is still very important and heartbreaking to me because that was obviously the day my baby should have been in my arms,” Watson said.

An empty shelf that once held those memories motivates Watson to keep looking.
