MAUMELLE, Ark. — Arkansas State Police are now investigating after a standoff between an armed person and Maumelle police left one person dead on Saturday afternoon.
According to reports, at about 2:00 p.m. on January 11, officers with the Maumelle Police Department were called to Crystal Hill Road with reports of an alleged emotionally disturbed person armed with a knife.
Once they arrived, officers found the person they say was exhibiting erratic behavior and holding a knife. They then reportedly tried to resolve the situation peacefully for about 45 minutes but that proved to be unsuccessful…
