Rain Expands Overnight in Arkansas; Snowflakes Possible in Higher Elevations

LITTLE ROCK, AR – Rain is spreading across western Arkansas, with moisture pushing east from Oklahoma along the Red River. According to the National Weather Service (NWS) Little Rock, a mid-level low-pressure system moving through west Texas is driving the precipitation. While much of the rain remains light or evaporates before reaching the ground, increasing moisture levels will lead to more widespread rainfall overnight.

Higher elevations in the Ouachita and Ozark Mountains could see brief snowflakes mixing with rain, though no accumulation is expected. Most of the state will dry out by Sunday afternoon, with clearing skies lowering temperatures into the 30s by Monday morning. Another strong system later in the week could bring severe weather threats to the region.
