Industry Mourns Death of Arkansas Tourism Advocate, Former CJRW CEO

The Arkansas tourism industry is mourning the recent death of Wayne Woods, former CEO of Little Rock-based advertising agency CJRW and longtime advocate for tourism in the Natural State.

Wayne Woods was a very special person and a friend to so many,” said Montine McNulty, former CEO of the Arkansas Hospitality Association. “He loved Arkansas, and he spent many years traveling Arkansas and promoting the tourism industry. Wayne loved life, and he had a good one.”

According to the Arkansas Department of Parks, Heritage and Tourism, which inducted Woods into the Arkansas Tourism Hall of Fame in 2020, Woods helped transform state tourism into a multibillion-dollar industry. He helped organize the Arkansas Tourism Development Foundation and the first Arkansas Governor’s Conference on Tourism, in addition to helping pass a 2 percent tax on the hospitality industry that generates millions of dollars a year…
