Wildfires damage businesses and homes in Southwest Little Rock, including Goodwill

LITTLE ROCK (KATV) — As wildfires spread through the state of Arkansas yesterday afternoon and into this morning, parts of Little Rock went up into flames, including some businesses. Little Rock Fire Department says the hardest hit area was Southwest Little Rock, where homes and businesses were found damaged.

Yesterday afternoon, a fire near Geyer Springs Road spread through the wind and to the woods on the west side of the Scott Hamilton Drive Goodwill. Around 3, flames hit the roof.

“We had a couple of trucks here for the duration of the fire here, and they worked very hard at making sure they did everything they could, one to protect us, but also on the other side of the woods is a neighborhood, so the houses on that side are very important,” Brian Marsh, President and CEO of Goodwill Industries of Arkansas, says…
