Arkansas auto salesman’s plan for new Vilonia cryptomine must win over wary locals

VILONIA, Ark. (KATV) — A cryptomining company owned by Arkansas auto salesman Steve Landers Jr., Interstate Holdings Blockchain, is eyeing the town of Vilonia for a new cryptomine. Locals, however, are still wary after previous miners with suspected ties to the Chinese Communist Party came to town.

Nearly two years ago, a company called Green Digital tried to build its own cryptomine at the edge of Vilonia, but was not well received and deemed a bad actor by state officials.
