Traffic Stop Leads To Paragould Man’s Arrest On Drug Charges

March 21st, 2025, at approximately 9:44 P.M. a Clay County deputy made a traffic stop on U.S. 62 East of Corning. When the deputy tried to stop the vehicle, the vehicle pulled back into the traffic lane three different times. The driver gave the appearance that he was going to try and flee. The deputy pulled in front of the vehicle and another deputy pulled in behind the vehicle blocking it in. The driver of the vehicle did not want to comply with deputies’ commands to show his hands. The driver finally complied with the deputies’ commands and got out of the vehicle. There was a strong odor of Marijuana coming from the vehicle, and the deputies learned the driver was on probation, and had a search waiver on file.
