Arkansas Storm Team Forecast: Alert Day Issued for Sunday & Wednesday

Arkansas will have an active weather pattern this coming week, beginning with Sunday’s (tomorrow’s) enhanced severe weather risk. Storms will likely initiate in western Arkansas by late afternoon and early evening, quickly strengthening as they move eastward across central, northern, and southern parts of the state.

The primary concerns include damaging winds and large hail, though a couple of tornadoes cannot be ruled out, especially during the initial stages of storm development. By late Sunday night, storms should organize into a line as they approach eastern Arkansas, continuing the threat for damaging winds and potential spin-up tornadoes before clearing out by Monday morning.

Looking further ahead, another Alert Day has been issued for Wednesday. Storm Prediction Center has highlighted the possibility of a significant severe weather event statewide. Exact details such as storm timing and primary threats remain uncertain. Additionally, flash flooding will become a bigger concern by mid-to-late week, as heavy rainfall totals ranging from 5 to 7 inches could lead to flooding issues. Stay tuned for further updates…
