Bicyclist mourned by central Arkansas community after deadly collision

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – The central Arkansas bicycling community is mourning the loss of a cyclist who passed away Saturday due to injuries sustained in a collision last week.

Marcus Billingsley was struck by a vehicle last Sunday around 7 p.m. at the intersection of Kavanaugh and Lee Streets. He was 70 years old.

Major Taylor Cycling Club of Little Rock has issued a proclamation honoring Billingsley.

In the proclamation, the cycling club says they are committed to working with local agencies, community organizations and safety experts to implement measures to improve bicycle safety.
