FOX 16 News longtime camera operator Morsie Eagles retires

Monday, March 31, marks the end of an era at FOX 16 News.

After nearly 57 years of being the man behind the cameras, Morsie Eagles is finally ready to retire.

Morsie began working at the station in June of 1968 in the maintenance department. In 1981, he moved into the production department, and four years later, he continued to move up into the position of studio camera operator.

In 2018, the studio was named after him.

He was inducted into the Gold Circle of the Mid-America Emmy chapter a year later, honoring those who have worked in television for at least 50 years.

Morsie has worked with a lot of people over the years, but they all have one thing in common: Their love and appreciation for him.

Arkansas Secretary of State Cole Jester and Rep. Matt Duffield (R- Russellville) joined KARK 4 News to recognize Morsie on his accomplishments. Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders sent in congratulations on a well-deserved retirement.
