The Arkansas State Police’s Interstate Criminal Patrol (ICP) team earned top honors at the Gulf Coast High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area Awards in Biloxi, Mississippi, on April 1, 2025.
The ICP received recognition as:
- Agency of the Year
- Officer of the Year
- Largest Cash Seizure of the Year
Agency of the Year:
The ICP team was named 2024 Agency of the Year for its efforts in intercepting illegal narcotics valued at more than $32 million, seizing 25 vehicles, and recovering $4.1 million in cash.
Officer of the Year:
Trooper Ana Escamilla was recognized as 2024 Officer of the Year after making 21 drug seizures and seven currency seizures, with a combined street value of nearly $5 million. She also made 27 arrests, seized seven vehicles, and confiscated two weapons.
Largest Cash Seizure of the Year:
Corporal Chris Short was honored for making the largest cash seizure of the year, recovering $813,490 during a single traffic stop in Crawford County.
Arkansas State Police Director Col. Mike Hagar commended the team’s efforts, stating their work is essential in preventing illegal narcotics from reaching communities.
