According to the National Weather Service (NWS) Memphis, excessive rainfall could lead to significant flooding, especially in low-lying and flood-prone locations. The community is facing the possibility of overflowing rivers, creeks, and streams, with widespread street flooding anticipated.

The current conditions hint at a grimmer atmosphere, enveloped in fog and mist, with a humidity clinging to the air at 93%. In a Weather Update, NWS Memphis reported last at 4:54 am CDT visibility reduced to a mere 3 miles under the watchful eye of a northeast wind of 6 mph. Commuters should exercise caution while driving through these reduced visibility and slick road conditions. With the barometer holding at 30.00 in (1015.7 mb), the affected areas, including East Arkansas and West Tennessee, are preparing for a fraught weekend.
