Police: Arkansas gas station clerk fatally shot man pouring kerosene in parking lot

BENTON, Ark — Benton police are investigating a deadly shooting that happened at a local gas station on Friday night after a man allegedly poured kerosene in the store’s parking lot.

According to the Benton Police Department (BPD), the incident took place around 7:30 p.m. Friday night as officers responded to reports of a “disturbance” involving two people at the 15900 block of North Service Road.

Upon arrival, authorities said that they found a man — later identified as 47-year-old Alfredo Garza III — dead at the scene. According officers, kerosene pooled in the parking lot and was flowing out of convenience store as well…
