UAMS collects donations for Milk Bank with donor drive

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences chose Mother’s Day weekend to host a community event at the Milk Bank on Monroe Street Saturday morning.

The mission of the Milk Bank is to ensure a steady supply of donor milk for sick and vulnerable infants in neonatal intensive care units throughout the state.

Milk is collected at more than a dozen locations around the state, then brought to the milk bank where it is pasteurized and stored frozen for later use.
