LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Arkansas hunters who wish to get a 2025 permit to hunt in one of the state’s Wildlife Management Areas (WMA) are running out of time to apply for a permit.
The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission has set the WMA deer permit applications available until 11:59 p.m. on July 1 at the AGFC WMA deer hunt website.

Officials explained that deer hunting on private land or certain Wildlife Management Areas (WMAs) requires only a hunting license. Still, some popular WMAs become overhunted or crowded without special restrictions, creating a need for permits.
