More than 1 million Arkansans have REAL IDs

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – More than 1 million Arkansas residents have received a REAL ID, according to officials with the Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration.

DFA officials said the total number of Arkansans with a REAL ID surpassed the one-million mark within the last few days, adding that the number increased in the weeks leading up to and following the national implementation date on May 7.

State officials said more than 331,600 REAL IDs have been issued since the beginning of the year.

“Appointments are available for those in need of a REAL ID, saving significant time and effort. I’m grateful to our Revenue Office employees for working after hours the past few months to ensure every customer was served,” DFA Secretary Jim Hudson said. “We remain committed to providing a great Revenue Office experience at offices across the state.”
