Ward petting zoo closes due to dangerous heat

WARD, Ark. – With a holiday around the corner, the summer heat and humidity may have just started, but a local business is already feeling the sweat of staying open. Those at a local petting zoo say they have had to close their doors multiple times because of the weather.

Bobbie Owens, the manager of J-Rock’s Rockin’ Ranch, says that during the summer, they opened more hours of operation, but the heat has made it difficult to stay open.

“We haven’t been open a lot during the summer because of the heat,” Owens said.  “We have just been having to close or close early.”
