LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KATV) — As the Fourth of July celebrations kick off, law enforcement officials are urging the public to prioritize safety during the festivities. With the holiday falling on a Friday this year, celebrations are expected to extend throughout the weekend, making safety precautions even more crucial.
Sergeant Todd Crowson of the Bryant Police Department highlighted the need to avoid illegal activities that could spoil the celebrations. “We don’t want people out on the roads, you know, drinking and driving, obviously, anytime, but this year, it is going to be a lot more on the road. So have a responsible driver get you home safely,” said Crowson.
Crowson also warned against gathering in restricted areas and shooting guns, stating, “There are some that’s going to want to shoot guns as fireworks. We strongly discourage that.” He reminded the public that “shooting guns inside the city limits is illegal anyway.”…
