Arkansas National Guard helicopters continue work in Texas flood zone

AUSTIN, TEXAS. (KOAM) – Earlier this week Arkansas Gov. Sarah Huckabee-Sanders activated the Arkansas National Guard to deploy as needed July 7 to the Texas Food zone. They traveled the following day to the Austin, Texas area.

The 22 Soldiers consist of pilots and crew chiefs, and six maintenance personnel, departed at approximately 7 a.m., July 8, 2025.

On Wednesday alone “UH-60 Black Hawk crews in Texas transported 25 people and 2 dogs from flooded areas to designated evacuation points in their area of operations yesterday. Proud to do our part to assist Texas Military Department in its time of need,” Arkansas National Guard state in a release.

One Black Hawk crew is postured for to provide medical evacuation support, with forward looking infrared and hoist capability. Three other Black Hawk crews are postured to provide hoist capability, visual searches, passenger movement, and cargo movement…
