Arkansas Heat Advisory: Dangerous 109° Heat Index Across Central, Eastern Counties Noon to 8 p.m. Wednesday

Little Rock, Ark. – Scorching heat and humidity will grip much of Arkansas Wednesday, sending heat index values soaring to 109 degrees in cities like Little Rock, Searcy, and Pine Bluff. Outdoor activities and road work will face major disruptions from noon through 8 p.m., as health risks rise sharply across dozens of counties.

According to the National Weather Service in Little Rock, a Heat Advisory covers most of central, eastern, and southeast Arkansas, including Pike, Calhoun, Clark, Dallas, and Ouachita counties. High heat and humidity will combine to push “feels like” temperatures well above 100°, with the highest values expected in Pulaski, Saline, Garland, and Jefferson counties.

Road crews, schools, and anyone working outside should take extra precautions. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in air-conditioned spaces, and check on vulnerable neighbors.
