LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – A Little Rock man received a seven-year federal prison sentence on Wednesday after pleading guilty to arson.
Mile Andrew Caldwell was sentenced after entering a guilty plea in February. The 20-year-old had been indicted on two counts of arson by a federal grand jury and pleaded guilty to a single count, according to a spokesperson for the U.S Attorney for the Eastern District of Arkansas, Jonathan D. Ross.
Teen arrested, accused of starting fires in two Little Rock gym bathrooms
Caldwell was facing charges after an investigation into a series of fires started in fitness center restrooms on Nov. 16, 2023. Investigators said he started two fires at the Little Rock Athletic Club, one in the first-floor bathroom and one in the second-floor bathroom, then set a third fire that evening in the 10 Fitness bathroom on North Rodney Parham.
Investigators identified Caldwell through security camera footage from each location, leading to his arrest on November 17, 2023.
