Chosen Law Group hosts back to school community block party

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KATV) — The Chosen Law Group joined in on the annual tradition of back to school events on Sunday to help those in need get the supplies and necessary services for their children as they prepare to return to the classroom.

The group hosted a back to school community block party at the Rivermarket from 1-4 p.m., offering free school supplies, haircuts, hairstyles, food, games, and more. There were event vendors in attendance to add to the block party feel.

Bobby Forrest Jr., organizer of the block party, spoke about why he put this event together and how much it means to him personally. “I grew up the same way. My mom was a single mom with four kids. And so in the summer time, although she made it look great, I started to realize that we were unfortunate. And so it was events like this that churches were putting together where I was able to get free haircuts, where I was able to get a pair of shoes, able to get some school supplies that lessened the burden on my mom. So, I care about doing the same for other moms.”…
