Tyler police arrest Arkansas man with warrants after suspected burglary

TYLER, Texas (KETK) — A man from Arkansas was arrested on Monday morning after police responded to a burglary alarm at a Classic Toyota in Tyler, according to the department.

The Tyler Police Department said they witnessed 26-year-old Levon Gates Jr. of Arkansas run from the scene of a suspected burglary at a business in the 1700 block of West Southwest Loop 323 in Tyler. According to Tyler PD Detective Israel Camarena, the business was a Classic Toyota in the area.

According to the department, Gates immediately ran from officers and was captured without incident. During the process of verifying Gates’ identity, it was discovered that several arrest warrants were issued for him from multiple agencies throughout surrounding areas and outside of Texas.

Gates was booked into a local jail for multiple onsite offenses and his warrants, according to the department.
