HARRISON, Ark. (KY3) – While ensuring that students’ needs are met in the classroom is the first step, it all comes down to having enough teachers in the classroom, and Arkansas Schools are still looking for educators in certain subjects.
In north-central Arkansas, a handful of districts have a moderate to high need for educators this coming school year, particularly in Middle School Science. ELA and Social Studies have moderate needs, while secondary science, foreign language, and secondary mathematics have high needs for the state.
The Division of Elementary and Secondary Education data for Arkansas indicate that teachers are staying in their current positions at a rate of around 76 percent; however, this is lower than the nearly 80 percent who remained in their positions before COVID-19…
