BENTON, Ark. – Concerns about highway construction have led city of Benton officials to address residents.
Officials said they were responding after people in the area expressed concerns about construction on Interstate 30’s Exit 117 restricting access to Saline Memorial Hospital.

Officials said the city is coordinating with Saline Health Systems and the Arkansas Department of Transportation to ensure hospital access, including rapid access by emergency vehicles. The construction is part of a long-planned project, they said, and will provide clear pathways to the hospital as the on and off-ramps are being realigned.
“Public safety remains our number one priority,” Benton Mayor Tom Farmer said. “We’ve worked closely with hospital leadership and the Arkansas Department of Transportation to ensure that emergency vehicles and patients will have uninterrupted access throughout the project.”
