New I-55 bridge connecting Tennessee to Arkansas now has a name: Kings’ Crossing

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Memphis’ planned new bridge across the Mississippi River now has a name.

The Interstate 55 bridge will be named “Kings’ Crossing,” in honor of three transformative figures in the city’s history: Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., B.B. King and the King of Rock ‘n Roll, Elvis Presley.

The Departments of Transportation for Tennessee and Arkansas made the announcement Wednesday. Kings’ Crossing connects the two states, which are jointly helping fund the project along with federal money…
