Leaders relaunching workplace initiative to tackle opioid crisis

LITTLE ROCK (KATV) — Arkansas is grappling with a severe opioid crisis, with one resident dying from an overdose each day. More than half of these deaths are linked to opioids.

In response, state leaders are leveraging the national opioid settlement and a renewed partnership to address the crisis, starting in the workplace.

Curtis Barnett, CEO of Arkansas Blue Cross and Blue Shield, emphasized the importance of collective action. “It takes all of us playing not only our role, but playing it in a collective way, and working collaboratively together to make sure that we have a healthy population,” he said…
