Wayside Waifs rescues 34 dogs from rural Arkansas shelter

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Wayside Waifs saved dozens of dogs and puppies from a rural shelter in Arkansas over the weekend.

Last week, the Kansas City animal shelter said it received a request for assistance from a rural shelter in Arkansas that was overcrowded with dogs and puppies.

Wayside Waifs said its rescue team deployed in the early morning of Aug. 21 and returned the evening of Aug. 23 – with 34 dogs and puppies they had rescued. The animals were living in dirty conditions and suffering from a variety of medical conditions, according to the shelter.

Now that the animals are in Kansas City, Wayside Waifs said they will receive food, medical and behavioral care…
