CARROLL COUNTY, Arkansas — Arkansas’ historic “Little Golden Gate Bridge” has been reopened following emergency repairs in August, but the work isn’t done yet, as the state’s Department of Transportation (ARDOT) said planned weekly closures are expected indefinitely.
Also known as the Beaver Bridge, the Little Golden Gate on Highway 187 over the White River was closed on Aug. 6 after a structural issue was found during a routine inspection. Repairs were conducted and the bridge was reopened on Aug. 14.
