Sam Shade, A&M complimentary of Green, Razorbacks

FAYETTEVILLE — Sam Shade’s coaching debut at Alabama A&M got off to a fast start on Saturday before Taylen Green and the Razorbacks took over.

The game was tied at 7-7 with 6:28 remaining in the opening quarter. A&M even limited the Razorbacks to a 53-yard field goal by Scott Starzyk on their next possession. But a block in the back penalty help shut down A&M’s next drive and from there it was off to the races for the Hogs in a 52-7 win.

“First off, just want to say much respect for Arkansas and that team,” Shade said. “Coach (Sam) Pittman and that staff, man they do a great job. I think our guys came into the ball game excited to play and excited to be on this SEC stage, and really came out and played hard. We had a couple plays that didn’t go our way early that really kind of turned in their favor, so we’ve got some things we’ve gotta learn from. We were feeling good early. They’ve got a good offense, Taylen Green, their quarterback, he really makes them go. He gave us a hard time containing him and I think he’s an NFL quarterback.”…
