A pair of fall fronts bring rain & a cooldown

Today will be the warmest day we’ve seen in a while with temperatures climbing into the upper 80s, maybe even near 90° in Northern Arkansas. Skies will see a good mix of sun and clouds, with mostly sunny conditions at times paired with a light west wind. A cold front this evening will bring the chance for rain and a few thunderstorms.

Scattered pockets of thunderstorms are expected to fire up along the cold front near I-70 by late this afternoon and a few of these could become severe. The strongest storms could produce hail up to quarter-size along with locally damaging wind gusts.
