Shreveport, La. – Dangerous storms could roll across north Louisiana, southern Arkansas, and northeast Texas late Friday into early Saturday, with hail and damaging winds posing the main hazards.
According to the National Weather Service in Shreveport, a cold front moving through the Ark-La-Tex will trigger thunderstorms beginning Friday evening, lasting through the pre-dawn hours Saturday. The highest risk for severe weather is along and north of the Interstate 20 corridor, including Shreveport, Ruston, and Monroe.
Forecasters warn that large hail up to quarter size and wind gusts exceeding 60 mph are possible, strong enough to damage trees, power lines, and vehicles.
