‘A Raisin in the Sun’ brings iconic drama to Little Rock stage

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KATV) — The timeless drama “A Raisin in the Sun” is set to captivate audiences at the Actors Theater of Little Rock. The play, written by Lorraine Hansberry and inspired by Langston Hughes’ poem “Dream Deferred,” tells the story of a Black family living on the South Side of Chicago in the 1950s.

Gabe Williams, who plays Joseph Asagai said, “It’s about dreams. And you know, the American Dream kind of everybody going for that. And you know how we can overcome obstacles as a family.”

The production also features actors Willie Lucius and Nick Farr, who bring their own flair to the iconic roles. Lucius plays main character, Walter Lee Younger Jr. a love interest of Walter’s sister, while Farr portrays Bobo, a friend of Walter’s who finds himself in a bind…
