Arkansas medical marijuana sales have reached $193 million from January 1 through August 31, according to the Department of Finance and Administration.
That marks an increase from the $182.5 million sold during the same period in 2024, which state officials described as a significant year-over-year gain. Between July and August alone, Arkansas collected $5.38 million in marijuana tax revenue. Since the beginning of the year, total marijuana tax collections stand at $21.57 million. In total, patients have spent $1.5 billion on medical marijuana since dispensary sales began in May 2019. With daily sales averaging $800,000 this year, the state is on pace to surpass last year’s record of $283 million in sales, according to DFA spokesperson Scott Hardin.
Arkansas voters approved medical marijuana legalization in November 2016 through Issue 6, a constitutional amendment that allowed qualified patients to purchase and use marijuana with a doctor’s recommendation.
