Man who gave a false name to deputies, faces felony charges for child-related crimes.
A traffic stop for a bicyclist with no lights led to the arrest of a man wanted in Arkansas for child-related crimes, authorities said.
David Matthew Northcutt, 42, was taken into custody on Thursday, September 11, after a Monroe County Sheriff’s Office deputy stopped him on 5th Street on Stock Island at approximately 1 a.m. for having no lights and improper lane usage.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, Northcutt initially provided a false name to the deputy. Detectives were later able to confirm his true identity and discovered that he was a wanted fugitive.
