Benton man arrested after being accused of suspiciously following a postal worker

BENTON, Ark. – Police in Benton arrested a man after they say he was suspiciously following a postal worker.

According to the Benton Police Department, officers said they were called to the 1000 block of River Street Thursday afternoon after reports that someone was following the poster worker and acting erratically.

Hot Springs shooting suspect arrested after police standoff

Police said they found the suspect, later identified as 35-year-old Christopher Blankenship. Officers said he exited his vehicle but later returned and refused to get out.

Police said a standoff went on for more than an hour before Blankenship was taken into custody.
